Be a Baboon Guardian for Orphan Sunny

The Guardianship programme at C.A.R.E helps us to care for and plan a future for the baboons under rehabilitation at the centre. If you would like to become a Baboon Guardian and support a baboon at C.A.R.E, we will send you a Guardianship Pack and updates on their progress. We rely on generosity and donations to enable us to care for the baboons undergoing rehabilitation and we hope that through keeping you updated on your special baboon you may get to know a little of its personality and character as it develops! Choose one of our very special baboons who deserve only the best care and with your help we can provide just that! If you choose to become a Baboon Guardian, we will send you electronically;

 give this sweet natured boy a second chance

 

Sunny has a bright, playful and happy personality since coming to C.A.R.E., which is how he got his name.  Sadly his past was a little darker than his bright future;

 

Sunny was confiscated from a family where he was being kept as a pet.

In order for the family to obtained Sunny his mother must have been killed.  Baboon families are very protective of their babies, and it is likely that more than one of his troop were shot.

With lots of TLC and good nutrition, C.A.R.E. has meant this little boy can get a life with his own kind again and he has made friends with other orphans to form a new troop.

 

C.A.R.E aims to raise Sunny as part of a new orphan troop, which he is growing up with and when ready will be released back into the wild. He is lucky to have been rescued by C.A.R.E at a young age as males can easily become too confident around humans, which later would make them dangerous.

We are raising funds to build Sunny and his troop a semi-wild enclosure!

We are so excited for the day we can release Sunny into a semi-wild habitat at C.A.R.E. with his troop of orphans and one day be release them into the wild.  Sunny spends his days grooming again, playing with his new friends and eating lots of veggies!

 

Sweet Sunny has a bright future at C.A.R.E, where he will get all the care and support needed for a life in the wild as part of a baboon troop again.
