Long-Term Volunteer Opportunities

LATEST OPPORTUNITIES:

PRIMATE REHABILITATION CARE-GIVER

ENRICHMENT CO-ORDINATOR

FUNDRAISING & MARKETING COORDINATOR

VETERINARIAN / VET NURSE

C.A.R.E. is run by volunteers from the bottom to the top and every day volunteers truly help and really do make a positive difference.  Volunteers are the backbone of the organisation and dedicated, passionate individuals make a massive positive impact on the welfare of so many animals and their conservation as a whole daily.  We'd love to welcome you to our team!

We employ 14 local African Staff, but the rest of the team are primarily 'Long-term Volunteers' or Voluntary Staff Members.

Long-term Volunteer means staying for over 3 months and being expected to train short-term volunteers, act professionally and friendly to short-term volunteers, work longer hours and typically doing (sometimes monotonously) the not-so-glamorous jobs.  Some Long-term Volunteers may take on additional responsibilities and/or apply for specific roles.

Long-term roles are competitive and often are filled in advance, it's such a great way to add animal husbandry experience to your resume.

Opportunities can include;

Vet / Vet Nurse

Enrichment Internship / Enrichment Team Volunteer (3 Months)

Volunteer Care-Givers

General Sanctuary Operations Assistants

Phase 1 Rehabilitation Assistant (6 month minimum)

Fundraising and Marketing Volunteer

Conservation Education Assistant

As a Long-term volunteer, the Volunteer Donation fee to cover your Accommodation/ Food / Training is reduced and for some individuals (for example qualified and experienced vets) it can be vastly reduced or completely free in return for your skilled, professional help.  See Volunteer Donation page.

“I really need your help here on the ground at C.A.R.E..... I need your helping hands, ready to get dirty to give the animals the best care possible.  We would love to welcome you to join us as an important volunteer.

Please come and help us on our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, provide sanctuary and release animals.

Give yourself the opportunity to get to know such a misunderstood species. Prepare for the baboons to get under your skin and Africa to get into your blood.

Your life will be changed forever; many suddenly find their horizons boundless, priorities shifted and not only can Africa make a positive impact on your life; you can be the positive difference to the lives of so many too.”
