Tax Deductible Receipts
SECTION 18(A) TAX CERTIFICATE available on request to South African taxpayers for Credit/Debit Card, EFT and PayPal donations –please send confirmation of donation and request for tax certificate to info@primatecare.org.za
DONATIONS TAX EXEMPTION No. (Section 18(a)) : 18/11/7/324
If you are resident in South Africa and would like a tax deductible receipt issued for your kind donation, please send your request to info@primatecare.org.za with proof of donation attached to your e-mail. (We would also like to acknowledge your generosity but electronic deposit slips which are sent via the bank often do not have donor contact details which means that we are unable to express our appreciation.)
Please note that tax receipts cannot be issued in arrears later than 6 months after the end of the relevant tax period, as C.A.R.E. must submit an advisory to SARS reflecting the number of tax receipts issued. If you do require a tax receipt kindly request it with confirmation of donation.
If you are US Based, we can arrange for you to make a donation to C.A.R.E. via IPPL which will enable you to also get a tax deductible receipt.
Want your donation to fund something specific? Here are some things we desperately need your help with...
Food Fund
Our biggest daily expense at the centre are the costs to ensure the animals have a balanced and varied diet. The orphaned animals at C.A.R.E. eat on average a combined total of 4 tonnes of food per day which includes seasonal fresh fruit, vegetables and dry scatter feeds of available foods such as mealies (corn), dog or cat biscuits, monkey pellets, nuts and raisins. Food costs vary and costs also involve fuel costs to collect the food. Even when farmers are generous and provide us with discounted or even free foods, we must drive distances to pick it up.
C.A.R.E needs on average R2,000 per day to feed the baboons at the centre, or on average R14,000 per month.

$15.00 now to feed an animal orphan for a day.

$50.00 now to feed a troop of orphans for a day.

$200.00 now to feed the centre for a day.
Chacma Contraceptive Fund
Our biggest challenge at C.A.R.E. aside from the releases is to manage the population. With so many baboons being orphaned daily the population is growing rapidly.
For every baboon born in captivity it means one less baboon can be helped in the wild.
This fund is vital to enable the effective and successful management of C.A.R.E.
C.A.R.E. needs to fit 300 female baboons with Contraceptive Implants to prevent breeding. If we allow breeding at the centre the welfare of the baboons is compromised due to the stretching of already very limited resources: space/food/funding. Therefore we must prevent captive births.

$90.00 now to protect a female for 6 months..

$130.00 now to protect a female for 1 year.
You'll recieve a photo of the baboon you help and a certificate!
Life Saving Immunisations
Years of love and resources are poured into each being that arrives to the centre. A disease or condition like tetanus can take these lives in an instant. It is so vital to ensure all the animals are vaccinated. Vaccines save lives.
Each baby baboon must recieve 4 shots of tetavax (R72 per shot), which must be administered through a hand injection (syringes costing a few dollars). We must immunise all incoming baby baboons.
Each adult baboon must recieve 4 shots of tetavax (R72 per shot), which must be administered in a dart (each costing just under R200). Whilst we now immunize all incoming baby baboons, we have a lot of adults to catch up with.
If you choose to immunise an adult we will send you a photo and certificate of the baboon you helped.
Make a difference today, you hold the power in your hands to save a life.

$100.00 now to protect an adult baboon against tetanus.
